Named That Tune

Hayling EPI had no doubt, my humble readers, that when I asked you to identify a piece of music for me you would have no difficulty in finding the answer.

Once again you have not let me down.

Stu, via the usage of his DAB digital radio and Chill correctly identified the tune as Hayling by FC Kahuna. Featured on the Machine Says Yes album, the track has appeared extensively in film and television soundtracks. Among the track’s credits are the movie Layer Cake and the television series of Top Gear, CSI: Miami and Monkey Dust.

I’ve just purchased the Hayling EP from iTunes and I’m playing the track on a repeat-loop. An album purchase is definitely on the cards.

Name That Tune

City rockers record sleeveQuite simply folks, can you help me identify this piece of music: cityrockers.wma ?

It was taken from the website of the (now defunct?) City Rockers record label. I’ve heard it played several times as incidental music in television documentaries but I’ve never been able to identify its creator.

It’s a safe bet that it was created by an artist  from the City Rockers stable. Any ideas who? Let me know by leaving a comment below.

I love the weather

Come on folks, enough of the complaining! After all, it is February so technically it is still winter, so please stop acting all surprised about the sudden presence of snow. First you complain that it rains all the time, then you complain that the summers are too hot and now you maintain that the snow will bring the end of civilisation.

Just go outside, build a snowman and throw snowballs at a neighbour you don’t like. You’ll feel a lot better for it!

Three inches of snow fell over night making the street look lovely and Christmassy

Snow

Snow in the High Street

This was the sight that greeted us as we left the pub quiz this evening. Considering that two hours earlier there was hardly any snow to be seen, this was quite an impressive sight.

Shortly after this photo was taken an impromtu snowball fight ensued between the patrons of The Crown Hotel in Wootton Bassett High Street. There’s nothing finer than watching a group of middle-aged children whooping and hollering as they throw handfulls of snow at each other. Suffice to say, one’s aim is greatly improved after the consumption of several glasses of red wine. Suffice to say also, one’s aim is improved when one’s target has consumed several tankards of cider and is lolloping around in the snow like a beached whale.

I think we came fifth in the quiz.

An update

As I type this, my ftp client is slowly uploading some of the older content from the original World of Me website.

As you read this the files should have completed uploading.

Ah, there they are!
