January 2010

The World of Me will relaunch in January 2010. Don’t go away…

Living on Video

Video

If you look at the menu to the right of this text you will discover that I have added a Video page. That’s right folks, all the video recordings that you knew and loved from the old website have now been added to the new world of me blog-thing. All of your favourites are there, including Mr. Sweary Goes to Town and The Lift of Death, plus some new additions such as the wonderful Vulcan bomber and some footage of the whitest man on earth.

This time around I have decided to host the videos on YouTube. Not only does this mean I save valuable server space by not hosting the files myself, you, my humble reader, get the benefit of being able to see high-quality (in content anyway) video without the need to download large files or bother with the hassle of dealing with strange and mostly-incompatible video file-formats. Unfortunately, YouTube has a nasty habit of removing videos if the content dares to even glance in the direction of a copyright infringement. Should this occur I will have no option but to resort to hosting the files myself.

The Video page is also accompanied by a YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/nigecube

Living

Too busy living to keep on the bloggin’

Not dead, just very busy with life. Several website updates to be added fairly soon..

An update

As I type this, my ftp client is slowly uploading some of the older content from the original World of Me website.

As you read this the files should have completed uploading.

Ah, there they are!

If you look to the right of this sentence you will find a new Pages menu. In this new Pages menu is a page titled ‘Music’. Go on, go and take a look now…

Comments

One good thing about converting the World of Me to this WordPress malarkey is the readers ability to add comments after every post. Unfortunately, spamming bastards all over the world have programmed their spambots to bombard the comments fields with adverts for pharmaceuticals and dating websites.

It’s the reason I have to moderate all comments before they appear on the site. At one point, after receiving over twenty spam comments in one afternoon, I considered shutting off comments for all posts, but then I realised this was not a direction I wanted the World of Me to take. After all, who would Stuart have left to talk to?

As I can handle the current trickle of spam I’m leaving comments turned on for now, but at the first sign of mass spammage, I’ll turn it off.
